Airlines are getting ready to handle a busier and more expensive holiday season.
Jet fuel hasn't become this costly since the year
2020. Airlines are also racing for thousands of workers to satisfy the
increasing demand for Flight attendants, if any query to customer call
delta airline reservations number, pilots baggage handlers, reservation
agents, and many more in a labor market that is crowded which would have been a
challenge at the start of the coronavirus epidemic.
Airlines have also gone through a large portion of the $54 billion of government payroll assistance that covered their expenses for labor in the midst of the crisis.
The rising cost of travel threatens the industry's efforts to
turn a profit after having lost a record-breaking $35 billion last year when
the pandemic wiped out 10 years of profit. For travelers that are already
on the road, the combination of rising demand and rising costs could result in
higher ticket prices in the near future.
Delta Air Lines last month warned that
the higher prices for jet fuel would impact its bottom line during its fourth
quarter. Frontier Airlines on
Wednesday predicted losses in the fourth quarter on an adjusted basis, owing to
the higher cost of fuel.
